When I order checks, I am thinking about a lot of things. I am thinking about how much money I will end up saving by knowing what I am spending and avoiding overdraft fees. I am thinking about how much better off I will be knowing where my money is going in terms of all of the costs of just about everything. And ultimately speaking, I am thinking about how much those checks are going to cost.
When I order checks, the fact is that I don’t want to be spending more money than is absolutely necessary to save I don’t know how much and keep track of things in a way that would benefit me in I don’t know what quantifiable way. I used to order through the banks, get the same old plain checks every time, etc. And I just accepted that as the best way.
But honestly speaking, a check is ultimately a piece of paper. As long as they have the right information, anybody can print that piece of paper and give you checks that your bank will cash and recognize. If there’s a problem with mailing, they can cancel those numbers, and ultimately speaking, there is nothing all that different. But in my process of finding the best place to order checks, I found that I was actually paying the same price or less to get designer checks that were the look I want. I was saving money in the right places, and though a small difference, it’s money saved still the same.
